Yes, they make our town even better

Representatives of companies and private homes came together on Thursday to celebrate the results of the 2025 Clean & Tidy, held as usual in Hellisgerði.

Sól Restaurant, Fléttuvellir 15, Furuvellir 20, Heiðvangur 5, Áshamar 12–26 and 50, Borgarhella 1, 3 and 5, and the café Barbara all received recognition. The event was wonderful and warm, even though the autumn air had made itself felt. People kept cozy under the stage canopy in this beautiful art garden of Hafnarfjörður.

Guðbjörg Oddný Jónsdóttir, chair of the Environment and Construction Council, presented the awards. At the ceremony, she described the Beautification Contest as a venue where the energy of residents, companies, and organizations truly shines through.

“It’s delightful to see how many nominations we received this year and how diverse the contributions are: beautiful gardens and streetscapes, well-designed new buildings, tidy commercial plots, and innovative projects that bring green values into everyday life,” she said before presenting each recipient with their certificate. Beauty, she added, can be found all around Hafnarfjörður.

“This is a shared effort — and as we often say: many small things make one big.”

Yes, every helping hand makes the town better! Congratulations to all.
