Kraftur Moves to Hafnarfjörður

Kraftur, which represents MAN in Iceland and Palfinger cranes, plans to relocate its operations to Hafnarfjörður. Construction has begun on the company’s plot at Álhella 9. The company has also signed a cooperation agreement to strengthen its collaboration with the municipality.

Kraftur will open at the new location in the new year, which also marks the company’s sixtieth anniversary. The move to Hafnarfjörður will include the company’s headquarters and its operations.

Mayor Valdimar Víðisson welcomes the company’s relocation. “It is great news for us in Hafnarfjörður that a company like Kraftur chooses to move its operations here. This creates diverse employment opportunities, increases value creation, and strengthens the town’s business community.”

Kristinn Þór Geirsson, CEO of Kraftur, says the company aims to start operations at Álhella 9 in September next year. The site had been under consideration for some time. “We need a spacious plot with good outdoor and operational areas, and we are now establishing ourselves in a rapidly growing commercial and industrial area,” he says.

“We are expanding significantly with the relocation and plan to increase staff from 25 to 40. We are excited for the times ahead, as significant milestones are approaching.” Kraftur’s new premises will cover 2600 square meters, combining workshop, warehouse, showroom, and employee facilities.

Kraftur has for decades been the representative for MAN in Iceland. The company offers a wide range of trucks and buses. MAN has proven its quality in Icelandic conditions and has been among the best-selling trucks in the country for many years. Kraftur also operates a strong service, workshop, and spare parts division.
