“It’s clear that there is a need for these open meetings. They have all been fully attended. I will continue holding them, as one of the most important tasks of a mayor is to maintain good communication with residents,” says Valdimar Víðisson, mayor, who held his open meeting at Thorsplan yesterday.

“The topics are varied, and I place great emphasis on ensuring that the suggestions made are followed up within our system,” he adds.

Yesterday’s discussion covered many issues, and the feedback was valuable. The weather was wonderful, and good conversations took place over a cup of coffee while residents waited to speak with the mayor.

Valdimar also holds open office hours every Tuesday from 9:30–11:30. Appointments for these are booked by phone at 585-5506. The Thorsplan meetings have a slightly different format—residents can simply show up.

All interested residents are encouraged to take advantage of this Tuesday opportunity to have a meaningful conversation with the mayor about municipal services and local issues.

The next open meeting with the mayor will be held on September 26th from 12:00–14:00.
