As the holidays approach, new titles are filling the shelves, much to our delight. Hafnarfjörður Library highlights selected authors and their contributions to the holiday book season each week in November on Mondays at 17.30.

Lokar augum blám is the third book by Margrét S. Höskuldsdóttir and the second featuring the police team Ragna and Bergur. This is a Westfjords crime story in the classic style, guaranteed to make your hairs rise. In the middle of summer, two young kayakers vanish without a trace in Dýrafjörður. Detective Bergur is transferred to Flateyri and takes the case, joined by his former colleague Ragna, who is called west. At the same time, a couple is working on renovating an old house in Flateyri. After difficult years in the capital, they hope for a quiet life in a beautiful location but the house carries a dark and troubled history.
