18 projects and individuals received a cultural grant

Projects that enrich the town’s culture

Grants from the Culture and Tourism Committee of Hafnarfjarðarbær for individual projects and events were handed out to 18 individuals in a formal ceremony at Hafnarborg last week, concurrently with the nomination of the town´s artist of the year. Cultural grants are awarded twice a year to individuals and projects that are likely to enrich and further deepen the town’s culture. The allocation of grants by Hafnarfjarðarbær is based on the evaluation of applications. Cultural events, artists, associations or institutions applying for funding must be connected to Hafnarfjörður in some way. This includes, for example, permanent residence, that an event/project takes place in Hafnarfjörður and/or that a project involves an introduction to Hafnarfjörður’s cultural activities.
