Valdimar Víðisson, the mayor, is now repeating the event and will be moving his office three times into one of the glass pavilions at Thorsplan. He invites Hafnarfjörður residents for a good chat, a conversation. “I want to meet people, hear what is on their minds, what ideas the people of Hafnarfjörður have, or just talk,” he says. When?

• Thursday 04.09 from 11:00 – 13:00.
• Friday 26.09 from 12:00 – 14:00.

No appointment is necessary; just show up. There is no age requirement or need to discuss a specific topic. Everyone is welcome to bring whatever is foremost in their mind.

Valdimar already offers residents appointment hours on Tuesday mornings. Then an appointment must be booked by calling 585 5506. But now there is a chance to meet him face-to-face at Thorsplan.

Valdimar has been mayor since the beginning of the year, a town councilor in Hafnarfjörður since the municipal elections in 2022. He was a deputy councilor during the 2018–2022 term. He moved to Hafnarfjörður in 2008 and began working as assistant principal of Öldutúnsskóli, becoming principal in 2013. Since the turn of the year, he has not only held open office hours but has also visited all the municipality’s workplaces.
