Do you want to have a team in the rowing race on Fishermen’s Day?

Open for registration and training in the harbor

The health town of Hafnarfjörður advertises for teams that want to participate in a rowing race in the town harbor on Fishermen’s Day (Sjómannadagur). The day will be celebrated in Hafnarfjörður and all over the country, on Sunday June 2nd. It has been a tradition for over 70 years to have rowing races on this day and workplaces, groups of friends, neighbors, sports groups and all interested parties are encouraged to get together and take part in the competition. Each team consists of six team members and one captain.

Register your team before May the 30th – start training right away

At its peak, nine teams took part in the race – it would be a pleasure to break that record this year. Those interested are asked to contact Sunna Magnúsdóttir, project manager of culture and events in Hafnarfjörður, via email: menning@hafnarfjordur.is. The rowing boats are already available for the teams’ to start training, but all further information is provided through the email address mentioned above.
