Gunnar Helgason recently turned 60 and wants to thank all the children who have read his books over the years. To celebrate, he’s coming to entertain kids at the Hafnarfjörður Library!

Gunnar will read his favorite chapters from several of his books, including the new one, Birtingur og símabannið mikla (Birtingur and the Great Phone Ban). He’s also taking chapter requests in the comments section of the event on the library’s Facebook page!

He will be joined by a secret guest who might sing with him and read from their own book. It’s more than likely that the secret guest’s name is (a five-letter name meaning luck or happiness in Latin)! Everyone is welcome as long as space allows, so arriving on time might be wise.

After the event, everyone will head to the Christmas Village where Gunnar and his companion will sign books for anyone who’s interested.
