The exhibition takes you to another world; a world of fairy tales and hidden realms that we do not usually see as we wander through Heiðmörk or along Iceland’s shores.

These artworks were created during the period from 2022 to 2025.  Nearly all of the forest pieces were captured in Heiðmörk, except for two which were taken in the forest near Reykholtsskóli. The coastal pieces were captured on the Reykjanes Peninsula, Snæfellsnes, Reynisfjara, and in Þorlákshöfn.

Over the years Friðrik has mainly worked with traditional landscape photography, but in recent years he has moved more into abstract and impressionistic photography. For this he primarily uses the ICM (Intentional Camera Movement) technique, creating distinctive works that sit somewhere between photography and painting.

In his younger years he undertook studies in photography in Stockholm. Since then he has been active in attending workshops and learning various photographic techniques from others. He has participated in many group exhibitions, mostly in Iceland but also several abroad.

The images are printed on Canson matte Fine Art 310 g paper by Ljósmyndaprentun.is.

The works are for sale at ISK 75.000 and are released in three numbered and signed editions.
