Karl Ágúst Úlfsson will visit Hafnarfjörður Library on Saturday, December 13th at 14:00. He will read from his book Fífl sem ég var (“The Fool I Was”), chat with guests, and guide them through the era of a nation’s comedic mirror, an era he himself helped shape.

Who doesn’t remember the craft teacher, the taxi driver, Silli, Geir (and Grani), and so many other beloved characters from Spaugstofan? Not to mention Eyjólfur from Ytri-Hnjáskeljar, Danni from the Líf movies, and countless others.

Portrayer of all these familiar figures, Karl Ágúst Úlfsson looks back on their creation, a process that certainly wasn’t without its challenges. Interwoven in the story is also his own battle with a malignant illness, a battle that has gone far better than expected.
