The heart of Hafnarfjörður beats stronger on The Icelandic National Day. Join BMX riders, Unu Torfa, Emmsjé Gauti, and all the residents of Hafnarfjörður where the heart beats – in the town center of Hafnarfjörður. Families and friends enjyoing the day together. Life, excitement, art, music, and various events from morning to evening on this festive day.

🎈 Start the day with a swim in the sea and sauna, then check out the Vikings at the Viking Festival, try skateboarding or even badminton. Then join the parade, down to Thorsplan where the festival reaches its peak. There, entertainment, concerts, dance, disco, and delicious refreshments of various kinds await.

• Children can enjoy karaoke in Hellisgerði, get their face painted at Hörðuvellir, and there will be bouncy castles throughout the town. Art enthusiasts can explore new exhibitions at both Hafnarborg and the Cultural Heritage Museum, Byggðasafn Hafnarfjarðar.

The town center will be closed to vehicle traffic during the celebrations:

• Strandgata by Lækjargata
• Linnetsstígur by Fjarðargata and Hverfisgata 23
• Austurgata from Linnetsstígur
• Mjósund by Austurgata
• Tjarnabraut from Arnarhraun to Lækjarskóli
• Parking for the disabled will be at Linnetsstígur 1
