An open house will be held on Tuesday, February 10, from 9:00 to 15:30 at Norðurhella 2, 221 Hafnarfjörður, where visitors can review the proposed amendments to the local plan for the Norðurbær neighbourhood.

The Hafnarfjörður Town Council approved on 8 January 2026 the public announcement of amendments to the local plan for the residential area in Norðurbær, Hafnarfjörður, regarding Hjallabraut 45–49C, in accordance with Article 43(1) of the Planning Act.

The amendment proposes that access to the residential area will be directed from Hjallabraut, while access through the parking area by the Scout House will be closed. The number of guest parking spaces will be increased. Instead of underground waste containers, waste sorting will be managed with individual waste bins for each house.

During the consultation period, 27 January to 15 March 2026, the proposal may be accessed on the Planning Portal: https://skipulagsgatt.is/
