The Municipal Council of Hafnarfjörður approved at its meeting on 25 March 2026 the public advertisement of a proposed amendment to the detailed development plan for southeastern Hvaleyrarholt, concerning Þorlákstún, in accordance with Article 43(1) of the Planning Act No. 123/2010.

The proposal provides for a residential development with 47 dwellings on 46 plots, including 45 new residential plots for detached houses and one plot for the existing house at Lyngbarð, which is intended to become a semi-detached house.

During the public presentation period from 24 April to 11 June 2026, the proposal can be accessed on the Planning Portal website, case no. 444/2024.

Comments and/or suggestions must be submitted electronically through HMS’s Planning Portal. If further information about the proposal on display is requested, inquiries may be sent to the email address: skipulag@hafnarfjordur.is.

An open house will be held on Tuesday, 28 April from 9:00 to 16:00 at Norðurhella 2, 221 Hafnarfjörður, where the proposed amended detailed development plan can be reviewed.
