The Icelandic dictionary defines “tangible” as something that can be handled, something touchable, indisputable, concrete facts. The truth is that there are all kinds of us. Strong, weak, disabled, broken, and powerful.

My interest in goddesses and symbols was inspired by Valgerður H. Bjarnadóttir and Marija Gimbutas. All over Europe, statues dating back 4.000 to 40.000 years have been discovered, from the Mediterranean to the Baltic Sea.

These female bodies are thought to reference Mother Earth, the worldly goddess who gives and creates. Archeological digs indicate a community of peace and prosperity, before it was replaced by a culture of war, patriarchy and dualism.

I have done several hundred sketches and here are some tangible ones.
