Come home to Hafnarfjörður during the Advent

Hafnarfjörður welcomes Christmas with its annual Christmas village (Jólaþorpið) full of joy, delicious delicacies and festive Christmas merchandise. As well as a glory of lights, adventure and wonders in Hellisgerði, an ice rink in the heart of Hafnarfjörður, and so much more.

The Christmas Village at Thorsplan in Hafnarfjörður will be open every weekend during the Advent from the 17th of November. Fridays from 17-20 (5 PM – 8 PM), Saturdays and Sundays from 13-18 (1 PM – 6 PM), and until 21 (9 PM) on Þorláksmessa (23rd of December). The Christmas Village will be teeming with life and fun for Christmas, and the beautifully decorated Christmas houses have become nationally known for a variety of exciting gift items, gourmet delicacies, crafts and design. It’s an ideal place to look for the perfect Christmas present while enjoying delicious snacks that will keep you warm from the inside and out. Santa Claus visits on Saturdays and Grýla will be seen wandering around town on Sundays. Strandgata turns into a pedestrian street while the Christmas village is open.
