A festive program in the heart of Hafnarfjörður on the opening night!

The Christmas Village in Hafnarfjörður will open with a festive program at Thorsplan on Friday the 15th of November, when the lights will be lit on the Cuxhaven Christmas tree. The German ambassador, the mayor of Hafnarfjörður and the chairman of the friendship town of Hafnarfjörður-Cuxhaven, are in charge of lighting the lights on the tree. The Christmas tree is a gift from Cuxhaven, Hafnarfjörður’s friendship town in Germany for over 36 years.

• 17:00  – The Christmas Village opens
• 18:00 – Hafnarfjörður Marching Band
• 18:15 – Men’s Choir, Þrestir
• 18:30 – Lighting of the lights on the Cuxhaven Christmas tree
• 18:40 – Christmas in a shoebox – Gunni and Felix, with Tónafljóð
• 18:55 – Margrét Eir, festive songs

The Christmas Village at Thorsplan in Hafnarfjörður will be open every weekend from November the 15th. Fridays from 5-8 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays from 1-6 p.m. The café in Hellisgerði will be open during the opening hours of the Christmas Village, always until 8 pm. Special attention is drawn to the fact that the Hjartasvellið Ice skating rink and the Tivoli at Venusarhús, Strandgata 11, are as well open every weekend until Christmas.
