Winners of the Hafnarfjörður Singing Competition 2024

Talented singers shine brightly in Bæjarbíó

Hjörleifur Daði Oddsson and Birna Lára Sigurðardóttir from the youth community center Hraunið and Sara Karabin from Mosinn, youth center, shared first place in the singing Competition. Hjörleifur and Birna Lára performed, When I Was Your Man with Bruno Mars, while Sara Karabin sang Back to Black by Amy Winehouse. The Hafnarfjörður youth community center singing competition was held in Bæjarbíó. A very talented group of the towns youth took to the stage.

11 representatives in nine performances

Nine acts were performed and 11 singers participated. Ísól Eyja Brown from the youth centre Núið was in 2nd place with the song Stay by Rihanna. Sonja Laura Krasko from Mosinn youth Center came in 3rd place and sang; The Villan I Appear To Be by Connor Spiotto. The judge committee consisted of Sigga Ózk singer, Anna Lovísa Þorláksdóttir, leisure expert and elementary school teacher, and Katrín Hildur Jónasdóttir, singer and member of the Iceland Rock Choir (Rokkór Íslands).

Both 1st place acts will perform at the Samfés competition this year. The very popular singing competition will be held in Laugardalshöll on Saturday, May 4th.

1. Karen Hrönn Guðjónsdóttir from the Ásinn youth community center with the song Íslensk kona, in Guðrún Árný’s version.
2. Hrafnhildur Björk Ragnarsdóttir from the youth community centre Hraunið, with the song Born to be alive by Bee and her Business.
3. Sara Karabin from the Mosinn youth community center with Back to Black by Amy Winehouse.
4. Hjörleifur Daði Oddsson and Birna Lára Sigurðardóttir from the youth community centre Hraunið, with the song When I was your man by Bruno Mars.
5. Áróra Sif Rúnarsdóttir and Dögun Oddsdóttir from the youth community center Núið with the song Halleluja by Alexandra Burke.
6. Elísabet Benný Kristófersdóttir from the Verið youth community center with the song Djúp sár gróa hægt by Bríet.
7. Isól Eyja Brown from the Núið youth community center with the song Stay by Rihanna.
8. Sólrún Eva Hannesdóttir from Mosinn youth community center with the song Ho hey by The Lumineers.
9. Sonja Laura Krasko from Mossinn youth community center with the song The Villan I Appear To Be by Connor Spiotto.
