Impending strike at Áslandsskóli

School operations in light of impending strikes

The Icelandic Teachers’ Union, on behalf of the Association of Primary School Teachers and the Association of School Principals in Iceland, call for a work strike of its staff in Áslandsskóli. The strike does not apply to other primary schools or kindergartens in Hafnarfjörður.

The strike action is temporary and begins on Tuesday the 29th of October at 00:01 and expires on Friday the 22nd of November at 23:59, if no agreement is reached. If the strike action is called off, school operations will remain unaffected next week.

Organisation of Áslandsskóli´s operations in the event of a strike

• No school operations as of Tuesday the 29th of October.
• After-school centres will have regular service hours, between 13-16:30 every weekday, except for Wednesdays, where the hours are from 14-16:30
• Community Centres will be open as per advertised.
