Registration for after school centers 2025-2026 is now open
Registration is open for Hafnarfjörður´s after-school centers for the school year 2025-2026. The after-school centers are available for primary school children in grades 1-4 and operate at all primary schools in town. The goal of the after-school centers is for each child to be able to enjoy themselves and develop in an environment that is characterised by warmth, safety and respect. Applications received before June 15th are given priority.
The application is valid for one academic year at a time (August-June)
Registration is open for all of Hafnarfjörður´s after-school centers for the school year 2025-2026. The after-school centers are available for primary school children in grades 1-4 and operate at all primary schools in the town. The role of the after-school centers is to offer a variety of leisure activities after the traditional school day has ended, including group work, workshops, outdoor activities and electives, as well as offering transport to various sport practices. The goal of the after-school centers is for each child to be able to enjoy themselves and develop in an environment that is characterised by warmth, safety and respect.
Applications received before June 15th in priority
Applications received before June 15 are given priority. Applications received after that time can be put on a waiting list and are not processed until August. When registering, it is important to ensure that all information is correct and special needs are recorded. When a child is placed in an after-school center, an offer of placement is sent to the email address that accompanied the child’s registration. The invitation must be confirmed with a response within three days.
