The implementation team has completed its work

The implementation team has now completed its work!

The implementation team completed the counting of all recycling containers in the town and finished yesterday on August the 2nd. Paperwork is now taking over. Anomalies discovered in the count have as well been fixed and the town should now be completely ready for the four part recycling system.

In the past weeks, since the implementation of the new waste sorting system was completed, three special teams have toured the town counting every single waste container, from private houses to multi-family homes. In addition, a few things where reviewed again, the labelling on the containers as well as whether anything went wrong with the barrel distribution itself.

The implementation team has for the last few months assembled around 6500 containers and distributed them to around 10,500 homes in eight different waste collection districts in Hafnarfjörður, along with plastic baskets and paper bag bundles for organic waste. Nearly 16,000 re-labelling of older waste containers have also been carried out alongside the distribution.
